Leaflets and Brochures

Leaflets are small bits of paper with, sometimes detailed and sometimes basic, information about something. It is like a mini advertisment.
Brochures are the same as a leafelt, but just folded.
In class, we have all been set a task. For our project, we have to design and create our own leaflet/brochure, to advertise and promote what can be done at the Southbank, for people between the age of 16 and 21.
My ideas have been set to focus on:
--> The London Eye
--> The Arcade
--> Shopping
--> The Aquarium (some people at this age may like things like this, or have a child/young sibling)
--> Food and Drinks

Sound effects

26/11/2009

Sound effects happen in two different ways.

1. Live sound 2. Pre recorded sound

Make a list of all the sound effects your play needs. Include what materials/ props you are required, plus when and where any recording is to be done.
--> Clapping noises
--> Gun noise (bang)
--> C.K (Boss)
--> Ooh and Awwws
--> Nooo (for when the runner drops)

Eguano: Hmmm Yes
Tanjiana: So there are some strong runners here and some who have made dramatic progress from the last olympic games.
Eguano: They all look healthy, one or two have had an injury but made a good recovery so this race should be a close call.

Tanjiana: Totally speechless
Eguano: I'm definatly buying drinks

Scenario 2

My group has spoken upon themselves and have decided to change my script. I am now going to be the main focus in the task. I am the runner.
I walk over to my lane on the tracks. Whilst walking the commentators talk about me and compare me to another good runner and say who they think will win and how close we will come together in winning the race. The race begins and we all get ready for take off. In our set positions i get a cramp and start to feel a a bit weary about not winning and lose confidence. The gun shoots off and we all take off, the commentators start babbling on. Not even half way through the race, i get a pain and stumble to the ground, i have troubles breathing. Laying across two tracks, all i can think about is I have failed. The commentators are still babbling. I couldn't lose. I got up and I ran, ran for my life. I sprinted past the first, then the second, and before i knew it, i was in first place, all i could think about was winning, i didn't look back, just kept my paste. I could hear everyone screaming and cheering. Before i knew it i had won the race and i was there. I was the centre of attention. I had won the race. I dropped on the floor again, but this time was a sign of relief.

Scenario

Commentator:
In the script I am one of the commentators. A commentator plays the role of a narrator. I will be talking through the event, of the 2012, different sporting events.
First of all i will introduce the runners and discuss with the other commentator to whom i think will win and who will be in competition with each other.

-->Commentators
- 2 in the box
- 2 outside

--> clips the back of some ones leg

--> someone drops over and continues to win the race

--> two or three or even four are neck on neck trying to win the race
-then they crash in all together and they cant decide who won

BEGINNING:

--> At the track.. people walking to their positions

--> Introduce the runners

MIDDLE:
--> Commentators comment on the strongest and the weakest

--> One by one they comment on a runner but notices one is weaker than the rest

--> A runner stumbles

--> Lays there for 5 seconds

ENDING:

--> Gets up and runs

--> Wins the race

DIALOGUE

Unit 2- Team work

Radio play performance planning.
Reece
Eguano
Tanjiana

As a group we came up with a few ideas to do with our radio play:
>Christmas
>New Years party
>Carnival
>2012 Olympics
>Bomb fire night
>Halloween
>Easter

Out of the above we have chosen to do our radio play on 2012.
....2012
>London is going to be recognized globally
>Film (2012)
>Olympics
>Effect young peoples lives
>Loose businesses

2012 is quite an important year for the whole of London. I say this because of the Olympics, when the olympics come around it gives a vast majority of people jobs.
The film 2012 is about the world ending, so putting them both together i have come up with an idea, that when the olympics are starting the world comes to an end.

I have began to think about where i would like my music in this radio play, and i have decided it will be needed:
> At the beginning and the end
> Leading toward the Olympic 2012 ending, to make tension.

NEXT LESSON WE WILL BE PRODUCING OUT RADIO PLAY SCRIPT........

The Radio Play

The Radio Play.
What is radio play?
Radio Play is a story told on the radio.

Radio Plays are very popular on Radio 4.
Radio drama is a form of audio storytelling broadcast on radio. Radio drama depends on dialogue, music and sound effects to help the listener imagine the story.

Radio drama achieved widespread popularity within a decade of its initial development in the 1920s. By the 1940s, it was a leading international popular entertainment. With the advent of television in the 1950s, however, radio drama lost some of its popularity, and in some countries, had never regained large audiences. In the 50's they used transition circuits which can still be bought today. However, recordings of OTR (old-time radio) survive today in the audio archives of collectors and museums. Present.........

The Archers is a British soap opera broadcast on the BBC's Radio 4.With more than 16,000 episodes it is the both world's longest running radio soap and, since the axing of the American soap opera Guiding Light in September 2009, the longest running soap opera of all formats in the world. The Archers is the most listened to Radio 4 non-news programme, and holds the BBC Radio programme record for the number of times listened to over the internet, with over one million listeners.

Evaluation of Unit 4- Creating a Record.

Unit 4- Record- Creating a record.

The evaluation- prior to half term autumn
In the light of what you have learnt using Logic 8 and lesson in this term- What would you have done/ developed differently to make your work more representative. Ask MSM.
Atmosphere- Gloomy, creepy and mysterious. I tried to make my music similar to how people saw Batman.
Batman character- Batman is a very mysterious character. I would class him as mysterious as people don’t really know who he really is. He is undercover. Some know him as Bruce Wayne.
I rejected instruments like the keyboard and wind chimes, as they are very soft instruments. They are the opposite as to the sound I was looking for.
At the end, when the ‘Gotham City’ scene begins, I slowly fade my music.

Record- a definition

The definition of record is a file, photograph or phonograph that has a permanent information on it. An example of 'records' would be 'facebook'. You make your own page and leave a 'record' of yourself and everyone can see what your about. It's permanently there.
Movies- a film crew records and uses computers to put them together. Then they are stored on disks (DVDs) or videos.
When the police solve a crime or someone does something that is against the law, it is put on a record. It is permanently there. Doesn't get removed.
Library's have books, that has tons of information stored in.
Newspapers- have information printed on it that everyone can read. Permanently there.
Birth certificates- That is your ID, your personal information, that is you. This is a record of you.
E-mail- emails are sent via the internet and saved in an inbox.
Internet- has information that is permanently there and you can leave it and go check it again when needed. Doesn't move.

Diverse- many and different.
tourist offices of diverse nationalities
a person of diverse talents.

Batman Movie work: Mr. Smiths class

Monday 5th October 2009
Today we were told to complete the first section of this project. This part of the project is to complete a 40 second introduction to the film 'Batman 1989'. I had done parts of this so, Mr. Smith told me to go into my motif. Doing this, i will be considering my middle section as well. I have to think about, contrasts and opposites. For example: Fast-Slow, Short-Long, Major (CDEFG)- Minor (ABCDE), Loud and Quiet. Having this all in mind, I have thought about how i am going to put all of my music together.

Tuesday 6th October 2009
I went back into Logic 8, where i have been composing my music and opened my NCFE saved file. I then went straight into completing my melody. Previously, we have been doing the background music, to our Batman intro, so once fully completed out melody, we can always go back into the NCFE file and change it up.

Thursday 8th October 2009
Today in Mr. Smith's class we had to put our music and the movie together, to make sure that they fit together. The music fits the scenery.
I wasn't sure what i was doing, so I spoke with Mr. Smith, and we both came up with the idea, with moving my music forward a few beats, so that when the names of the different stars come up my music changes slightly.

Monday 19th October 2009
In todays lesson we were asked to go straight into Logic 8 and complete our NCFE-batman intro.

Tuesday 20th October 2009
Today i completely finished my motif and tomorrow hope to go onto putting it in together and fully completing my Batman NCFE.

Thursday 22nd October 2009
Today I completed everything. Once i thought i was done , i got Mr. Smith to check it over and make sure everything was in the right place and if any bits were missing he could fill me in. Once he told me what i needed to do i went straight into doing to and finished the whole thing in an hour. What i had to do was, make my motif a bit longer and add a few more instruments to make it more appealing and stand out more over my background music, so that it wouldn't fade into the back.

Analysing the CD cover

Keri Hilson: In a Perfect World
Keri Hilson is a young R n B artist who attracts her music to young females. The interests would be the colours she used. The pink and the yellow, the sunset and so on. However I believe the main attraction would be the lyrics, the music in general. The product would be marketed around valentines day. The cover is a bit sexy, as Keri does a sexy pose for her main picture. I feel the main reason for producing this product is to show her passion for music, and to get through to the young girls, that are going through things in their life. The issues that the designer should take into consideration is, that not all girls would be attracted and to make sure that you use the right colour schemes and pictures as it may attract the wrong target audience. The product would be marketed in music stores, shopping centres, online, posters, etc. E.g. Tesco, Sainsburys, HMV, Virgin.

Jackson 5 is a young pop group from 1964-1989. They were also known as the Jackson brothers. Once they split, the youngest brother and also the leader went on to be a solo artist who came out to be 'The King of Pop'. Michael Jackson. At the time, they were attracting all ages, Especially the youngers, as they were young, cute, lady lovers. The product would have been marketed in the summer, as it has bright summery colours in the cover. The main reason for producing the product was to make money, and get their music going around the world. The issue the designer should take into consideration, is that, the product needs to attract the customers, be very eye catching and watch how they put the colours together. The product would heve been marketed online, shops, posters, leaflets etc.

This is a paired album with two R'n'B artist. Omarion and Bow Wow. Im my beliefs, this album would attract teenagers and young adults. Simply by the colours used and the way the artists are dressed. Everything about this cover attracts my eye. I like the way the writting stands out and the effects used to make the artists big and small. The main reason for making this product , is to make money. The issues that the designer should take into consideration, is make sure not to make it all cramped up. Don't pile all different things on the album cover.

Jodeci is a band from back in the days. They have made many albums but i chose this one as it is my favorite and has a very interesting album cover. It has bold colours and a very bold look to it. It has the name of the band, 'Jodeci' surrounded by a gold and silver knife. I say bold, as gold signifies, wealth and strength. So, it being around the bands name makes me think, that is what the band is trying to point out, they are strong and wealthy. Everything about this cover is very interesting. I feel the main reason for producing this is to show what the band is all about, it is like it says everything about the nad and the music.
